BIO
Rootsy experimental folk crooning lullabies for a revelatory future, unfettered fingerpicking guitar meets Doris Day singing a prayer. Olympic Peninsula darling Abakis is hard to pin down, but instantly familiar: tongue in cheek lyricism, vintage vocals, and Koetke-style picking guitar paint a sonic kaleidoscope. After appearing as Patsy Cline in “Always Patsy Cline” in fall of 2022, Aba has focused her attention on vocal-driven songwriting, braiding live harmonies together to accompany prayerful lyrics. Hear her exploring in this new element, calling in all the forces of dire beauty we will need to survive our current apocalypse.
